Inspectors Emma James and Jay Swan are tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of two young men from an isolated farm in the Outback. As their investigation progresses, unsolved mysteries from the past resurface, creating turmoil in this calm local community. Inspired by the eponymous film by Ivan Sen, these episodes keep their fascinating and captivating hypnotic power carried by this strange duo of a policewoman stuck in a very masculine environment and a Métis Aboriginal detective caught between two cultures.
Rachel Perkins
Rachel Perkins was born in Canberra in 1970. She is a daughter of Charlie Perkins. She is graduated from AFTRS. In 1992, she founded Blackfella Films, a documentary and narrative production company creating distinctive Australian content for television, live theatre, and online platforms, with a particular focus on Indigenous Australian stories. She served as Commissioner with the Australian Film Commission from 2004 to 2008, and has been on the board of Screen Australia from 2009 to 2013. She directed her first feature "Radiance" in 1998, followed by "One Night The Moon" (2001) a 57 minutes shorts with Paul Kelly. Her next feature "Bran Nue Day" (2010) was a huge success in Australia. In 2017 she directed "Jasper Jones". She also directed shorts (Flat, Mimi) and TV series like "First Australian" and "Redfern Now", TV film "Mabo" (2012) and documentaries including "Blood Brothers" (1993) and "Black Panther Woman" (2014). She is filming the TV serie "Mystery Road".
